About Amy

Hello! My name is Amy Johnson, and I’m the voice of Purple Gypsy Productions (PGP) and I’ve got more than 20 years of experience behind the microphone and in the world of television and video production. I’ve got a unique skill set to offer clients who are looking for professional, polished, and efficient work to bring their project, product, service, or company to life through audio and video.

After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications from Kutztown University, working as a Production Assistant at a local television station, and going on to become an Emmy-Nominated Reporter/Producer for a PBS affiliate in Pennsylvania, I branched out on my own and started PGP with just a modest desktop computer and a USB microphone. Fast forward a decade, and now I’m proud to offer studio-quality sound which serves clients on four continents and in dozens of countries around the world, not to mention hundreds of clients in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

What kind of sound can I offer your project? Well, my voice has a warm, friendly and professional delivery which will bring an inviting and educated sound to your recording project. My clear, articulate style keeps me in demand for documentaries, voice mail systems and educational projects – while my youthful and energetic style is perfectly suited for travel promotions, audiobooks, and commercial copy.

My smooth, sophisticated tones also complement scripts describing luxurious, decadent products like food, wine and world class automobiles or high class services like financial planning and insurance.

My main language is North American English with a vocal age range of Young Adult to Middle Aged. Some characterization and/or accents are available (i.e. New York/New Jersey, Southern American, British, etc.).
